Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Logistics Manager to oversee the daily scheduling and coordination of our fleet operations. This role is integral to ensuring the efficient transport of equipment, compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and proper management of fuel tanks and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Scheduling and Coordination: Manage the day-to-day scheduling of all Tempo vehicles to ensure optimal utilization and timely operations. Coordinate the transportation of equipment and work orders (W/O) in collaboration with the Fleet Maintenance Manager. Communicate with drivers to provide clear instructions and resolve any logistical challenges.
Fuel Tank Management: Oversee the management of fuel tanks in compliance with DOT regulations for Tempo vehicles. Ensure accurate and timely submission of reports, including MC150 and UCR.
Cost Control & Analysis: Track logistics costs and identify opportunities for efficiency and savings. Prepare reports and forecasts for management review.
Regulatory Compliance: Prepare and file yearly International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) reports in accordance with government requirements. Monitor and maintain compliance with applicable transportation regulations and standards.
Operational Support: Work closely with fleet maintenance and operations teams to address vehicle issues and minimize downtime. Maintain accurate records of schedules, fuel usage, and compliance documentation.
Problem Solving and Communication: Act as the main point of contact for drivers and fleet staff to address concerns and resolve scheduling or logistical issues. Ensure smooth communication between departments to support seamless fleet operations.
Team Leadership: Supervise logistics staff and drivers, providing training and performance feedback. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, fleet dispatch or transportation coordination.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Knowledge of DOT regulations, IFTA reporting, MC150, and UCR requirements.
Proficiency in fleet management software and tools.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
